Slow, bloated builds

Heavy themes and stacked plugins make the site crawl on mobile and break whenever something updates.

Afraid to touch anything

Changing a phone number or a photo feels risky, so the site stays out of date for months.

Locked to one developer

A custom setup only the original builder understands means every edit goes through them.

Each one is a lead you already paid for and didn't get.

Why WordPress, and how we build it so it lasts

WordPress runs a large share of the web for good reasons. You own it outright, any developer can work on it, it handles SEO well and it grows with you, from ten pages to a few hundred. For home service businesses that want a page for every service and every area they cover, it's usually the right platform. The problem isn't WordPress. It's how most WordPress sites get built: a heavy theme, a drag-and-drop page builder and fifteen plugins doing jobs that a few lines of code would handle.

We build lean. A lightweight custom theme, the block editor you already know from WordPress and only the plugins that earn their place, usually SEO, forms, security and backups. That keeps pages fast on a phone over a weak signal, which matters when a homeowner is standing in a flooded basement trying to find a plumber. It also means fewer things break when WordPress updates, and less to patch for security over the years.

You get a site you can edit yourself. Text, photos, reviews and simple new pages can be changed in the editor without worrying about wrecking the layout, and we show you how in a short training session. Bigger changes like new page types or integrations are still easy for us or any competent developer to handle, because the theme is built on standard WordPress rather than some custom framework only we understand. Admin access, hosting and the domain are in your name from day one. If you hire someone else down the road, they can pick it up without starting over, which is the whole point of owning your site.

WordPress needs regular updates and good hosting. Left alone for a year, any WordPress site gets risky. Plugins fall behind, security holes appear and backups that nobody tested turn out not to work. That's why we either set you up to maintain it yourself, with a simple checklist of what to update and when, or cover it in a month-to-month maintenance plan. Cheap shared hosting is a false saving too: a slow server undoes all the speed work in the build, so we recommend hosting that suits the size of your site.

WordPress Web Design questions

Why WordPress instead of Wix or Squarespace?

Wix and Squarespace are fine for simple sites, but they limit how far you can take SEO, page structure and speed, and you never fully own the platform. WordPress gives you full ownership, scales to hundreds of service and area pages, and can be moved to any host or developer whenever you want.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes. We build with the standard WordPress block editor and set up layouts so you can change text, photos, reviews and add simple pages without breaking anything. You get a short training session at launch, and you can always ask us to handle bigger changes.

Do you use Elementor or Divi?

Not by default. Page builders make sites heavier and slower, and they tie your content to that plugin. We build a lean custom theme instead, which keeps pages fast and easier to maintain. If you already rely on a builder, we'll talk through the trade-offs of keeping it or moving off it.

How much does a WordPress website cost?

Page count is the big one, then copywriting and integrations like booking tools or financing applications. The lean theme doesn't cost extra, since it's how we build every WordPress site.

Let’s talk about your numbers.
